And Still I Grieve
1. Two hundred
Thousand years or maybe more
Since they the Land adorned.
Far and wide their beauty
Named and mourned.
And, still I grieve
For my Trees that talked.
-
2. Throughout the
Universe, their knowledge was acclaimed.
Freely they counseled anyone in need.
Their soundness of mind revered.
And, Still I grieve
For my Trees that talked.
-
3. For thousand
Of years they lived and grew
In harmony, and loved by
All who knew their hearts
And essence true.
And, still I grieve
For my Trees that talked.
-
4. Their planet is
Gone and so are they.
Destroyed by Men, who’s creed
Is waste and war. Eons ago and
Yet yesterday, for still I grieve
For my Trees that talked.
