1.     I Remember;

       In a pleasant room,

       On the floor, I sat

       With a blond child

       Upon my knees. While

       Two other Children

       Played at my feet.

       Aware I was of

       A husband nearby.

       Waiting for something

       I knew would come,

       But, what?

       I remember not.

2.     I Remember;

       Out an open terrace-door,

       The sun shone

       Upon a clear blue sky.

       The curtains moving by

       A lightly blowing wind.

       In a corner the TV

       Played. An announcer

       Came on and said

       Something about a war,

       But, what?

       I remember not

3.     I Remember;

       The screen went black.

       I looked out the door

       And calmly watched

       The Mushroom Cloud

       As it grew and

       Filled the view. I,

       Remember ‘what’ we

       Had been waiting for.

       I felt my world

       Go black and die.

       I Remember.
